Dating back to 1818, Burlington has been part of the Virginia countryside for more than two centuries and has welcomed hundreds of celebrations throughout its more recent chapter as a wedding and event venue.
Today, proprietors Jess and Tristan Aiken are honored to carry Burlington into its next chapter, bringing nearly 15 years of wedding-industry experience and a deep familiarity with the property. From its historic home and Colonial Ice House to the Stables, expansive grounds, and on-site accommodations, Burlington offers something increasingly rare—a place where history, beautiful celebrations, and genuine Southern hospitality come together.
At Burlington, we're honored to provide the setting—and the hospitality—to bring it all together. We believe choosing your venue should make planning your wedding easier—not give you another list of things to figure out.
With more than a decade of experience in wedding planning and events, our team understands what it takes to bring an entire wedding weekend together. That's why the Burlington experience extends far beyond the property itself.
From helping coordinate your wedding rentals and connecting you with trusted, top-tier vendors to providing guidance as you navigate your wedding budget and plans, we're here as a resource throughout the process.
Whether you're joining us for your wedding day or creating an entire weekend at Burlington, you can expect thoughtful hospitality, experienced guidance, and concierge-level service designed to make you feel genuinely taken care of.

Fourteen years ago, Jess started her wedding planning company with a $500 check from her then-boyfriend, now-husband, Tristan. What began as a small business grew into one of the region's established wedding planning and design firms, built around a simple philosophy: exceptional celebrations begin with taking exceptional care of people.
By 2015, Jess and Tristan knew they wanted to bring that same high-touch, concierge approach to a venue of their own. What followed was a decade-long journey—working alongside local officials to help create new opportunities for wedding venues, pursuing properties that ultimately weren't meant to be, and continuing to believe that the right place would eventually find them.
All the while, Burlington was already part of their story. Jess and her team have planned and executed more than 100 weddings at Burlington, learning the property, its possibilities, and the experience of celebrating here from a planner's perspective. Over the years, Jess and Tristan would jokingly tell Burlington's owners that if they ever needed someone to become the property's caretaker, they would jump in with both feet.
Today, they have.
As Burlington's proprietors, Jess and Tristan are honored to carry this historic property into its next chapter—bringing with them more than 14 years of wedding experience, a deep love for Burlington, and the concierge-level hospitality that has defined their work from the very beginning. More than anything, they see Burlington as the legacy business they've dreamed of creating for their family: a place where other families will come together to begin their own.
